Install ringtones on your phone


First you need to copy some MP3s on to your phone. To do this, connect your Phone to a computer with the USB cable. It should mount automatically and appear as a drive letter on your computer. If it doesn't, then drag the notification bar (the bar at the top) down and press USB Connected and select Mount.

Once that is done, go to the Phone's drive letter on your computer. Create a folder called "ringtones". Then copy your MP3/s from into this folder.

Once that is done, go to the Phone's home screen, press Menu - Settings - Sound - Phone ringtone. Scroll down until you find the ringtone you want

Install a new keyboard on your phone


If you want a different keyboard from the default one, go to the Android Marketplace and install one you would like to use.

Then open the Applications Launcher. Press Settings - Language and keyboard - Input method. Then select the keyboard you would like to use

Replace Yahoo with Google as your main search provider


Open up the Android Market and press Search. Search for the iSearch widget and download it. Then open the widget. You can then choose various search providers instead of Yahoo. Press Save.

Then go back to your search screen. Press and Hold on the Yahoo bar and drag down to the Trash bin.

Then go to the Homescreen, press it and select Add, then select Widget, then select the iSearch widget

Hard reset your phone


Warning: this will erase all data on your phone. Use at your own risk:
There are two ways:
1) Menu - Settings - SD card & storage -Factory data reset

2) First, turn the phone off (if the phone is frozen then remove the battery and put it back in)
Then, Press and hold the Power and Camera buttons
Release the Camera button when prompted
Press and Hold the Volume Down key
A yellow exclamation mark should appear on the screen
Select the option to Wipe data / factory reset (Alt + W)

Search for similar songs to the one that is playing


While you are playing a song, you can Press and Hold on the name of the Artist. Then you can select Browser (to search the internet) or Youtube (to search for similar songs on Youtube)

Remove applications


Aside from using a third party app, there are two standard ways to remove an application:

1) Go to Settings - Applications - Manage Applications, then choose the application you want to close and select Uninstall.

2) Go to Market - Downloads. Choose the application you want to remove and select uninstall

Edit a Photo


To edit a photo, while you are in your Gallery, press the picture to open it. Then press the Menu key and press Edit.

You can then add effects, crop and so on. When you're finished press the Menu key and then press the Checkmark. Press to save the photo with a new name

Stay up to date with RSS feeds


First, type in a URL to load a web page. The phone will look through the page for available feeds. Press the Home key and then News.

Alternatively, you can press the Menu - Add Feed - Custom and type in a custom URL or RSS feed address

Save images in browser and email


To save an image in an email or in the browser, long press on the image and a menu will appear allowing you to save it

Geotag your photos


First you must enable your GPS and fix your location for the first time in Google Maps. Then go to the Camera application. Press Menu - Settings - Store location in pictures

Adjust your screen brightness


From the Home screen, press the Menu key - Settings - Display & security - Brightness, then change the level.

Display recently used apps


Hold to Home button down and a list of recently used apps will be displayed

Clear the cache


After Browsing or using Streetview the cache can get quite large quickly. To clear the cache:
Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - Browser - Clear Data

Check your available memory


From the homescreen, press the Menu key - Settings - SD card & storage
